Correct and Incorrect Fitting Hunt Coat Example
Examples of correct coat lengths
Spike is 5'8" and her coat length is a 27-27.5". Megan is 5'10" and her coat length is a 28"-28.5". These are JUST guides and EACH person is unique so PLEASE use your OWN judgement but pay close attention to the sleeve and coat length when being measured. If you have a current coat that fits, we suggest measuring it's length so you are aware of what your coat length measurement is.

Notice this coat hits right at bottom of the riders seat and hip bones when in the hunt saddle. The rider is not sitting on the back of the coat which indicates the jacket would be too long.

This coat hits right at bottom of hip bones again while rider is standing and near the top of the wrists. This is a correct example of a correct length and fit for a hunt coat.

This pictures is much like the one beside it. The coat hits rider at the hip bone area and at top of the wrist for the most part and is a correct fitting and length of coat.

Examples of Hunt Coats that DO NOT fit correctly
This rider is sitting on their coat so that is a clear sign that it is too long. The coat should NOT go 1/2 down your thigh. This coat looks a couple sizes too big for this person.
|
This coat is clearly too short for this person. Notice the button in her breeches shows as the coat splits up high because it is too short.
|
Another example of a coat that is too big and also too long. The rider is clearly siting on the coat and it is almost 1/2 way down her thigh. This coat looks a couple sizes too big for this person.
